A Fond Farewell to LEAF Bold Street
After more than 15 unforgettable years, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to close the doors of LEAF Bold Street on Sunday 21st September. This space has been so much more than a venue – it’s been a cultural hub, a creative sanctuary, and a gathering place where communities have bloomed over millions of cups of loose-leaf tea. Saying goodbye is not easy, but it feels like the right moment.
On Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th September (10am–3pm), we’ll hold a flea market sale of LEAF’s stock and equipment, and we’d love for everyone to take a memory home.
65–67 Bold Street is where our story began, and its legacy will live on. The spirit that started here continues to flourish at LEAF Smithdown Road, Little LEAF, One Fine Day, and OH ME OH MY – each proudly independent, distinct in character, and thriving.
LEAF Bold Street will always be remembered as one of Liverpool’s hospitality originators – a trailblazer that did things differently. With our punk-tea shop ethos, we reimagined the humble cuppa, creating a destination that became loved across the city and beyond.
For us, LEAF Bold Street has always been about people and community in this beautiful building we’ve proudly called home. It has been a beating heart – filled with laughter, art, music, and countless unforgettable moments. We are truly honoured to have shared these times with you all. To our regulars, our staff, our collaborators, and our friends – thank you. Your love and support made this space so special.
Since 2010, this building has hosted thousands of live gigs, DJ sets, art events, weddings, parties, talks, and more. It even echoed its past as The Yamen Café – when we discovered a pristine menu from 1913 hidden in the rafters during building work, a story that went global.
We’ve still got some of our favourites joining us one last time this September: BODA, Harvest Sun, Pudding Club, and many more. They’ll continue at our other sites, but this will be the last chance to experience them with us here at Bold Street. We’ll also have live music every weekend until we close.
Our final run of events looks like this:
Fri 5th – Harvest Sun Presents: Gill Landry / 8pm
Sat 6th – DJs in the Teashop / 1–5pm
Sat 6th – BODA Singles Social / 7pm
Sun 7th – Acoustic Jukebox / 11am–3pm
Thu 11th – Pudding Club: LEAF Classics / 7pm

Sat 20th – DJs in the Teashop / 1–5pm

In these last few weeks, we’ll keep serving our much-loved food, drinks, and nearly 100 varieties of loose-leaf tea. Whether you came here for a solo coffee, a first date, or a celebration, we invite you to join us one last time before we say goodbye.
We’ll mark the end of LEAF Bold Street with these final events and then the flea market sale on Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th September, 10am–3pm. From here, we’re excited to focus our energies on our other venues and the new plans we have in the works.
Because as we’ve always believed: where there’s tea, there’s hope.
